As Longsword refers to late medieval and Renaissance swords that exceed the length of a one-handed sword. Mostly they are swords one and a half hand also Anderthalbhänder -> also one-and-a-half hand sword.
This battle-ready reconstruction is exclusively handmade. The straight, twisted guard and pommel are made of heat-treated, forgeable cast iron. The one in oil at approx. 48-50 HRC hardened spring steel blade goes all the way through to the pommel and is hand-riveted there. The handle is wrapped with a leather strap. The blade features a pronounced fuller that extends almost to the center of the blade, giving the sword greater elasticity and lightness at the same time. The blade tip and edges are dull and rounded
The sword comes with a leather-covered wooden scabbard, which is equipped with simple mouth and tip plates.
