Cold Steel - Filipino Memorial Bolo Sword
The Philippine Bolo sword or. - Knives are available in a variety of shapes and sizes. The sword used as a template for this project comes from the private family collection of Guru Dan Inosanto. This historical prototype, a type of bolo sword known as Talibon, is notorious for having stood the test of time against many fearsome blades such as the Kris, the Barong, the Kampilan, and even the Japanese Katana.
This weapon was extensively used by the brave Filipino soldiers who fought on the side of the USA in World War II and the Korean War. "Of these original 260.000 Filipino soldiers, there are still approximately". 17.000 veterans alive. Cold Steel® will donate 10% of the profits from the sale of this sword to the charity organization Das Filipino Veterans Recognition and Education Project donate to acquire replicas of the Congressional Gold Medal for surviving veterans and their families.
1055 carbon steel
The carbon content and the relatively low levels of other substances in this steel make it a very stable material that is free from the brittleness inherent in most higher-carbon steels. This steel is ideal for blades that require high impact resistance and is therefore often used for large fixed-blade knives, machetes, and swords.
