TOPS Knives - Cuma Kage
Behind particularly remarkable and striking products, there is often an extraordinary story, and it is a blessing that there are companies like Tops that dare to turn such stories beyond the mainstream into a product. Since his childhood, the martial arts specialist Sijo Waysun Johnny Tsai has been fascinated by the game, comic, and movie character of the ninja Snake Eyes from the Hasbro franchise system GI Joe. Inspired by Snake Eyes' katana, Sijo has been thinking for just as long about an optimal functional sword that can be used both as a weapon and as a jungle sword, thus serving as a full-fledged replacement for an axe and machete. The result is the two-handed machete Cuma Kage with an overall length of 0" (1 cm), which Sijo has determined after years of training to be the optimal length for swords, batons, and throwing tools. The widened blade in the front third, made of shock-resistant carbon steel, has a perfect balance and features three stepped hollow grinds. The handle scales made of two-layer linen micarta in the color combination of black and brown are attached to the sturdy full tang with four hex screws. The machete's full practicality is ensured by a custom-fit Kydex sheath with a dangler. - The comic book artist Robert Atkins even uses the Cuma Kage as a model for Snake Eyes' sword in the new GI Joe comics.
