Carving - TRI Special Edition
The TRI carving knife is already a successful all-purpose knife, but Schnitzel Germany wanted more! For especially active outdoor enthusiasts, we have decided to make the TRI even more "bushcrafty", tougher, more maneuverable, and practical to further optimize your adventure!
It all starts with the choice of blade steel. We have chosen the CPM 3V from Crucible Industries LLC in the USA here. This powder metallurgy tool steel (59-61 HRC) is known for being extremely tough, wear-resistant, and corrosion-resistant. In addition, there is excellent edge retention, which can last a long time depending on usage. The 3V steel can indeed rust, as it has not been optimized for corrosion resistance. Therefore, this knife should be maintained to prevent corrosion, even though the chromium content is above 7%. If the knife becomes dull over time, we recommend sharpening it with diamond stones
To give the Special TRI even more versatility, the full tang blade features a sharp-edged pommel at the end, which can handle a variety of tasks in bushcrafting. At the eyelet of the striking knob, a black Paracord wrist strap is attached for additional safety during work to prevent slipping. Another feature is the sharp-edged blade back, which makes it a breeze to create sparks and ignite a campfire. The blade itself has received a light stonewash finish to make it a little more resistant to scratches
The handle scales of the Special Tri are made of contoured handle scales made of dark green-brown Micarta, which, matching the steel, has very robust properties and harmonizes very well in color with the Stonewash blade. The contouring provides a secure grip, a comfortable hand position, and makes this TRI more maneuverable compared to the versions with G-10 handle
The ultra-robust Kydex sheath with ergonomic thumb ramp has been retained and has been given a fire steel along with a Kydex holder for the Special Edition. And like all current TRIs, the knives feature a dangler carrying system that allows the knife to be comfortably carried on the loop on the belt without being obtrusive or bulky. Whether squatting or sitting, the TRI is always within easy reach
