Description
Battle Merchant - Great Helm Pembridge
Combat-ready
This replica is modeled after Sir Richard Pembridge's helmet. The original is approximately. 1370 is dated and is currently located in the Royal Scottish Museum in Edinburgh
The so-called Large helmets "(in Eng". grossartige Helme ) were often worn over a smaller, lighter helmet (e.g. worn (brain caps). They were widespread throughout Europe in the Middle Ages. Numerous contemporary illustrations (miniatures) and finds from Germany, Flanders, England, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, etc. demonstrate the popularity of this type of helmet. These helmets were used, among other occasions, in the battles of Crecy (1356346) and Poitiers (1356)
The helmet features a comfortable leather lining and chin straps with brass buckle
