SPQR - Valsgärde 8 Viking Helmet
This beautiful, detailed Vendel helmet is a replica of an original find from the ship burial at Valsgärde (Boat grave 8), a farm on the banks of the River FyrisFyris River) near Alt-Uppsala ("Gamla Uppsala" -> "Gamla Uppsala""), Sweden". The grave is about. 625 - 650 pcs. Chrome. dated and the warrior's helmet lay at his feet. The original piece is kept at the Gustavianum Museum at Uppsala University.
The replica was made of 2 mm steel and equipped with a chain mail of flat, riveted rings with an inner diameter of 8 mm. The plates are made of thinner steel (pressed sheet) and are fastened to the helmet with brass bands. The comb and the eyebrows are also made of brass. The elaborate patterns are faithful reproductions of the original designs. This early medieval spectacle helmet is equipped with an adjustable leather inlay and a chin strap.
This helmet is only available as a collector's item or. Decorative object designed and therefore not suitable for combat.
