Hanwei - Shaolin Dharma Sword
Bodhidharma, a Buddhist monk who lived in the 5th/6st. century lived, is known for its introduction
the birthplace of Zen in China, revered from the Shaolin Monastery
He was born into an Indian noble family, then became a monk, traveled through Southeast Asia and
China may have reached in the early 5. century. He was the 28. Patriarch of Buddhism, in
a line that can be traced back to the Buddha himself.
Bodhidharma's association with Buddhism is legendary and many famous accounts mention him
Names, as he introduced the Shaolin to a series of exercises, which evolved into their world-famous martial arts
developed. The lotus flower, one of the emblems of the Shaolin Temple, is emblematic of the spirit of Zen
in which the Dharma has reached a meditative state, and was thus able to remove any external influences from the mind
to separate and gain a clear view of reality.
The graceful Shaolin Dharma Sword represents the spirit of Bodhidharma. The forged carbon steel blade
is decorated with lotus patterns, which also adorn the intricately crafted fittings of the scabbard and the
adorned with handles. The handle and scabbard are traditionally made of bamboo.
